Background
Shell Haven is classed as "top tier" under the COMAH regulations, so safety training is essential for all newcomers to the site; visitors, contractors, employees and tanker drivers. This means that the site has a requirement for a 24/7 training facility.

Product
Working closely with Shell Haven Safety Officers and Trainers, Amtek developed a comprehensive training system which gives MPEG video presentations tailored to the needs of the user. A database records who has used the system, including test results, and a printed certificate is issued on completion of the training.

Results
The system is popular with users and allows safety induction training to be delivered in a JIT basis. Shell Safety Officers no longer need to provide round-the-clock safety induction services giving substantial cost benefits.
